This Privacy Policy explains what information is processed, the purpose of processing, and your rights as a user under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

A. Publicly Sourced Enterprise Data

The core data displayed on BizComp (company profiles, financials, NACE codes, addresses) is sourced entirely from public, official Belgian registries, specifically the Crossroads Bank for Enterprises (CBE) and the National Bank of Belgium (NBB).

• Legal Basis: Processing is based on Public Interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(e)).
• Data Scope: Data covers public enterprise and financial records.
• Personal Data: I do not collect, store, or display the names of directors, founders, or other private individuals from these filings.

B. Data Processed for Administration

The Service includes a secure, non-public administrative panel. Access is restricted to the Developer.

• Data: Admin username and password.
• Purpose: To secure the admin panel, authenticate the Developer, and perform site maintenance.
• Legal Basis: Legitimate Interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) to secure the application.

C. Automatically Collected Data (Server Logs)

When you access the Service, my backend server automatically collects basic technical data for security and debugging.

• Data: IP Address, Browser type, time of request.
• Purpose: Security, preventing misuse, and debugging errors.
• Retention: 30 days.

BizComp uses two types of cookies:

1. Strictly Necessary Cookies (No Consent Required)

These are essential for the site to function. They do not track you.

• NEXT_LOCALE: Stores your language preference (e.g., 'en', 'fr', 'nl').
• admin_token: (For Admin Only) Stores the session for the secure administrative panel.
• cookie_consent_status: Stores your choice ("granted" or "denied") from the cookie banner.

2. Analytical Cookies (Requires Your Consent)

We use Google Tag Manager (GTM) to gather anonymous statistics about how the site is used (e.g., which pages are popular).

• These cookies are BLOCKED by default.
• They are only activated if and when you explicitly click "Accept All" on the cookie banner.
• If you "Decline," these cookies will remain blocked.

3. Your Rights Under GDPR

You have the right to access, rectify, or erase your personal data.

• Data Correction: If you find an error in a company's public profile, you must contact the CBE or NBB directly to correct the source data.
• Erasure: This applies to data collected via server logs (Section 2B). You may request deletion by contacting the Data Controller.
• Withdraw Consent: You can withdraw your consent for analytical cookies at any time (e.g., by clearing your browser cookies).
• Lodge a Complaint: You have the right to complain to the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Autorité de protection des données).
